ACS Laboratory vs Peptide Sciences

One is an independent US analytical lab. The other is a peptide supplier. Here's the difference and when each one matters.

ACS Laboratory

Independent third-party analytical lab

independent

DEA registered

Operates under ASTM D8558

Does not sell peptides — no conflict of interest

5–7 business day turnaround

Signed COA with chromatograms + raw data on request

Peptide Sciences

Peptide supplier that ships peptides directly to end users.

Provides a manufacturer Certificate of Analysis with each product.

The manufacturer COA is generated by the same party selling the product. It is not independent.

Independent third-party verification of any batch requires an outside lab.

What "independent third-party" actually means

A third-party test is analysis performed by a lab that has no commercial interest in the product being tested. ACS does not sell peptides. If a batch fails, we say so on the COA. If it passes, that pass is defensible because we have no reason to inflate it. See our third-party verification service for the full workflow.

When to verify

  • Before running a new batch through a research protocol
  • Before dispensing from a compounding pharmacy
  • When a supplier's COA is missing chromatograms or method parameters
  • When you're evaluating a new supplier and need a baseline

Frequently asked questions

Frequently Asked Questions

No. ACS is an independent third-party analytical testing laboratory. We do not sell peptides. This is intentional — a lab that also sells the product cannot independently verify it without a conflict of interest.

Yes. Ship 100–500 μg of the peptide to our Sun City Center, Florida lab. We run HPLC purity, mass spectrometry identity, and return a signed Certificate of Analysis in 5–7 business days.

Supplier COAs are useful, but they are not independent. Our lab data shows meaningful discrepancies between claimed and measured purity on a significant share of samples we test. Third-party verification is how you close that gap.

Yes. Every COA ships with the HPLC chromatogram and mass spectrum. Raw data files are available on request at no extra charge.

HPLC purity starts at $150 per sample. Mass spectrometry identity confirmation is $200–$400. Full contaminant panels run $500–$1,200. See our pricing guide for details.

We provide raw data, method parameters, and reference standards used. Because our scope is independent, the report is defensible in regulatory and legal review.
